GEMMA BOVERY TRAILER (Video) – Here’s the trailer for the French film Gemma Bovery!
Based on the 1999 graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, the romantic drama centers on an English couple who move to a small farm in France. When a local notices them from afar, he realizes their names and behaviors are very similar to that of characters in his favorite book.
Gemma Bovery is directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Gemma Arterton, Fabrice Luchini, Jason Flemyng, Isabelle Candelier, and Mel Raido.
PLOT: Martin, an ex-Parisian well-heeled hipster passionate about Gustave Flaubert who settled into a Norman village as a baker, sees an English couple moving into a small farm nearby. Not only are the names of the new arrivals Gemma and Charles Bovery, but their behavior also seems to be inspired by Flaubert’s heroes.
